Textiles and Apparel Manufacturing is Malaysia second largest employment sector and earned USD 2.71 billion in exports in 2005. Manufacturers are vertical integrated with a reputation for reliability and the country has a developed infrastructure for export.
Malaysia textiles industry is pursuing a high quality, value-added strategy to succeed in the quota-free, competitive; environment, Government sponsored programs to advance the textiles and garment, industry beyond OEM0based production to higher value-added design and brand development work are preparing the industry to compete in the post Multitiber Agreement (MFA), environment. The industry is expected to continue its development due to significant private sector technology investment and government policies to improve textiles production, garment designing skills and supply chain management.
ATMEX 2009 is the single most unique showcase of the textiles and apparel industry in Malaysia. Rightfully coined as the largest get together of the textiles and apparel industry to keep abreast with technological development, the textile and Garment industry strives to meet new challenges with an increase in capital investment.
